Biography
Born in San Jose, California, in August 1959, Miles Menetrey spent his formative years in the scenic Santa Cruz Mountains, specifically in the town of Boulder Creek. After graduating from San Lorenzo Valley High School in Felton, California, in 1977, he began his early career journey in construction, starting at the young age of 14 in 1979.
In 1989, the Loma Prieta Earthquake displaced him from Santa Cruz County, leading him to make Mariposa his new home. There, he pursued and achieved a California State Contractors license in 1994, which paved the way for the establishment of his own construction company, Eli Stratton Construction.
For over two decades, Miles successfully operated his construction business until December 2016 when he decided to transition into a new phase of public service. In June 2016, he was elected to the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors, where he represented District 5. His dedication to the community and effective leadership earned him re-election to a second term on March 3rd, 2020.
In addition to his role on the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors, Miles represents the county on various boards, including the California State Association of Counties (CSAC), the Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC), and the National Association of Counties (NACo). At NACo, he serves on the Public Lands Steering committee and contributes to the Rural Action Caucus.
Miles is proud to represent the residents of District 5 on the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors and to advocate for Mariposa at state and national levels. He remains deeply committed to serving and contributing to the growth and prosperity of the cherished community.
