Biography
Shanti Landon was elected to the Placer County Board of Supervisors, representing District 2 (including Lincoln, Sheridan, and West Roseville) in November 2022. Prior to being elected, she served as District Director to former Supervisor Robert Weygandt for more than five years, where she focused on policy development, constituent services, and community coordination.

A lifelong Californian with deep roots in the region, Shanti was raised in Jackson in the Sierra Nevada foothills. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism, with a minor in religious studies, from CSU, Sacramento. Her early career included work in the executive office of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, followed by freelance journalism and contributions to outlets such as the Huffington Post.
Shanti and her husband Chris have been married since 1998 and raised their five children (four adopted from foster care) in Placer County since 2005. Her faith is central to her life, and she is passionate about advocating for strong families, healthy communities, and preserving the quality of life in Placer County.

In her role on the Board of Supervisors, Shanti prioritizes safe neighborhoods, fiscal responsibility, economic development, rural/agricultural support and more. She was appointed Chair of the Placer County Board of Supervisors for 2026, leads on national levels as Co-Chair of the NACo Agriculture & Rural Affairs Subcommittee and Vice Chair of its Rural Development Subcommittee, was appointed to the Rural Advancement Institute through Rural County Representatives of California, and is a Rotarian.
